All About Me

This might start to explain quite a lot. Or…nothing whatsoever. Definitely one of those.

I always wish people would put something about themselves on their sites, but everyone is so concerned about looking professional that they cut out every last trace of humanity. ‘Look at me, I am a walking corporation, press here to fax me.’

So. Here’s my bit.

I’m a Londoner who escaped to the sticks but came back (and may go again), and as long as I’m learning something new, refining a skill, or making something happen, I’m pretty content.

You want more? [....mutter....demanding.......got a life....mutter...]

I’m an INTJ, a Belbin Plant, a DISC High D Mid-C – introspective, analytical, detached, goal-directed, leader-if-it’s-my-goal, idea-generating, craftmanship-loving.  The only rules (DISC Mid-C) I pay attention to, really, are the ones that help me achieve something.

My idea of hell is a party, unless I find people there who like discussing real things. My idea of fun is to think all around a question and join up the dots of everything that pops out. Twenty years of system design will do that to a girl.

I spent my formative business years in Banking IT (system design, analysis, project management), where I learned that I hated Banking. And IT.  So I went off to do an Ergonomics BSc. I did a few more years in IT, before getting out altogether at around 40 when I developed CFS/ME. Yawn. If you want to piss off a brainy person, take their brain away.

So, many years mostly in a twilight zone, with clearer periods where I trained myself up in various useful skills (see CV below). Nowadays I’m sort of managing it, but frankly it’s touch and gzzzzzzzzzz…….

You can find my interests listed below, but in summary I always want to find out where someone is trying to get to, expand the ideas of what’s possible, examine ways of getting there and then build the path. You’re unlikely to get any other kind of conversation out of me, really… Don’t bother with X-Factor, I won’t have a clue.

Depending on who you speak to, I’m either a total bitch, a bit scary, or really, really nice. I don’t know whether that’s down to my moods or the other person’s arseness. Call it a tie…

So, check out the interests – if you share any of them, it’s going to be great talking to you!
